Feel like taking a dip into public art? Consider a trip to Suwanee, where two of the biggest draws at Town Center Park are the interactive fountain and an outdoor sculpture walking tour.
Fourteen sculptures are on temporary display, ranging from the powerful “Pick,” that’s inspired by well worn tools, to the whimsical “Who Let the Dogs Out.” It’s the third time Suwanee has organized the popular “SculpTour,” which invites people to vote on which piece(s) the city should purchase, using privately donated funds.
Meanwhile, if you ask kids of all ages, the “Big Splash” interactive fountain in front of City Hall is a work of art in its own right.
Spurred on by Centennial Olympic Park’s Fountain of Rings, these interactive fountains are all the rage in metro Atlanta now; the best ones offer a host of additional things to do nearby that cover the, uh, waterfront of cultural, culinary and consumer options.
