Surveying pop art of a different kind, the High Museum of Art on Tuesday announced it will open “The Coca-Cola Bottle: An American Icon at 100” on Feb. 28. Running through Oct. 4, the exhibition will explore the iconic design and creative legacy of the trademark Coca-Cola container.
Among the 100-plus objects on view will be more than 15 works by Andy Warhol and more than 40 photographs inspired by or featuring the bottle. In addition, more than 500 contemporary 3-D printed bottles sharing Coke’s famous shape will be suspended from the ceiling of the Anne Cox Chambers Wing lobby.
